Dear Community Members,

We are excited to announce that we will be publishing the “Ottawa Chautari” in conjunction with our upcoming Dashain Celebration Program. We kindly invite you to submit your articles/creative works for inclusion in this edition. We would like to request parents and Nepali School Language teachers to encourage children to submit their articles.

Articles should be written in any of these three languages: Nepali, English or French. We welcome contributions from a variety of topics. Some categories we suggest but not limited to are:

· Motivational and inspiring stories

· Your experience in Canada (academic, cultural or social)

· Your experience in Nepal (before coming to Canada or from any of your visits)

· Research article which would be interest to a wider community

– News paper article about Environment, Business, Travel, Culture, Art, Festivals

· Nepali food recipes (your parent’s hidden culinary secrets)

· Short stories, essays, poems (Muktak, Gazal, Geet, Cartoon, Laghu-natak, etc.)

Similar to last year,  articles submitted by our youth for this Dashain issue and the New year issue will be evaluated for a competition and the best articles from both issues will be awarded during the New Year/AGM program in April. Prizes will be given in two categories: below grade 7 and grade 8-12.

Please send your contributions to [email protected]  by September 15, 2024. There is no specific length requirement for submissions, but please note that the editorial board may make edits as necessary, in consultation with the author.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. We look forward to your valuable contributions.

Note: If you are interested in publishing Dashain greetings or advertisements in the “Ottawa Chautari”, please contact any of our board members.

Have a wonderful day!
